Arne & Carlos Knit Along (KAL)

Arne & Carlos Knit Along (KAL) is a series of meetings to select and support projects by the noted Norwegian designers or using their yarn in preparation for their forthcoming appearance at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Seattle, October 2016.

Enjoy a social hour and knitting time with other knitters who are as delighted by their design as their other followers around the globe.

You have probably seen the popular scandinavian-styled knitted christmas ornaments from their book "55 Christmas Balls to Knit" by Arne & Carlos.  Or maybe even watched one of their newly launched YouTube videos on ArneCarlos.com.  Did you know that they will be returning to the Nordic Knitting Conference to be held at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle this coming October?

I have had the extreme pleasure of taking class and hearing them speak in Seattle, Portland, and New York City.  To say that I am a fan is an understatement indeed.  But I am not alone.  They travel to from their home in Norway to Japan, Korea, all across continental Europe, and the United States to share their fiber inspiration and delightful selves.

Their 6 knitting books are published in numerous languages with a new one on inspiration books due out in the US in Fall 2016.

They also have a line of yarn, Regia Design Line by Arne & Carlos, that makes beautiful self-patterned socks and other accessories as well as adorable teddy bears.

This Knit Along (KAL) is a series of monthly meetings held on the third Tuesday to work on projects from any of the Arne & Carlos books or using Arne & Carlos yarn.  It is a great way to get ready for their upcoming time in Seattle. I will be supporting you in your selection and working on your project. The options range from those that are quick to finish all the way to impressive Norwegian-styled sweaters. You may even learn a new technique such as double knitting, stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, making socks, felting, or duplicate stitch.  It is your choice.

Please be sure you are confident in your skills to make a knit stitch, make a purl stitch, cast-on and bind-off before you register for this class.   These basic skills will not be taught.  Learning additional skills specific to your selected projects will be supported.

Cost $15 per session or $40 for three sessions.

You receive a 10% discount on the books.

Yarn and other supplies are available from Town Square Fabric & Yarn 445 152nd St. Burien, WA where I am in the shop Tuesday mornings, 10-12noon and Thursday evenings, 5-9pm.

This KAL will be held at The Lee House, 7315 39th Ave, S, Seattle WA 98118

We will enjoy a social hour prior to class.  Feel free to bring your dinner or even snacks to share.  There is a kitchen with refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave at our facility

Please no alcoholic beverages.

Class begins at 7pm.
