Double knitting is a 2-session class during which you will learn the basics of this type of construction and expand your skills to make a choice of any of a wide selection of projects including cozies, coasters, headbands, hats or cowls. Its a perfect way to knit gifts without a worry about fit. Double knitting is thick, extra insulating and completely reversible. You can choose any design to make a beautiful patterned fabric.
You should be comfortable casting on, making a knit and purl stitch as well as some experience manipulating yarn in both your right and left hands.
Scheduled for Thursday July 7 and 14, 7-9 pm.
Materials required: Scrap DK to worsted weight yarn; needles matched to weight of yarn (US size # 5-8); routine knitting supplies such as locking stitch markers, tape measure, blunt-tipped tapestry needle, and scissors or yarn snips.
